Excel London
ExCeL London is an international exhibition and convention centre situated on the northern quay of Royal Victoria Dock in the Royal Docks district of the London Borough of Newham, East London.[1]The venue opened in November 2000 amid the redevelopment of the historic Royal Docks area, initially spanning 65,000 square metres of flexible event space, and has since expanded significantly, reaching a total of approximately 125,000 square metres following a 25,000 square metre addition completed in 2025.[1][2][3]
It hosts over 400 events annually, including major trade exhibitions, conferences, and international sporting competitions, drawing more than 4 million visitors and 40,000 exhibiting companies each year.[1]
ExCeL gained prominence for accommodating multiple events during the 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, such as boxing, fencing, judo, taekwondo, weightlifting, wrestling, and table tennis, underscoring its capacity for large-scale gatherings.[4]
