Discography
Misono debuted as a solo artist with her first studio album in 2007, following the disbandment of her band day after tomorrow, and has since released four original studio albums under Avex Trax, blending J-pop, rock, and pop elements with themes often drawn from personal experiences and fairy tales.[8] Following her 2014 album Uchi, she retired from full album releases but has continued with occasional singles, including the 2025 collaboration "TORICO" with GINTA.[4] Her albums typically feature self-written lyrics and collaborations with producers, reflecting her transition from band vocalist to independent songwriter. She also released two cover albums in 2009 and 2010.
The debut album never+land marked Misono's entry into solo work, compiling tracks from her initial singles like "VS" and "Kojin Jugyou," with a focus on upbeat pop-rock arrangements and introspective lyrics about new beginnings.[13] It sold over 12,000 copies in its first week, establishing her presence in the J-pop scene.[14]Her second album, 生 -say-, shifted toward more acoustic and live-feeling productions, incorporating "live versions" of select tracks to emphasize raw emotion and themes of life and relationships, building on the success of singles such as "Tales of Symphonia."[15] The release maintained her chart momentum but showed a maturing sound with reduced sales compared to her debut.[16]Me, Misono's third effort, explored pop-rock with fairy tale-inspired visuals and narratives, including re-recorded versions of earlier songs and new material addressing personal growth and deception in love.[17] It featured 16 tracks and was released in multiple formats, though it charted lower amid a shifting music market.[18]The fourth and final studio album, Uchi, was released on her 30th birthday and controversially subtitled with a pledge to retire from CD releases if it failed to sell 10,000 copies, highlighting industry pressures; it delved into home and introspection themes with a mix of pop and rock.[19] Despite the promotional stunt, it underperformed commercially.[20]

Misono's compilation albums primarily consist of two mini-albums focused on her contributions to the theme songs for the Tales of video game series, reflecting her ongoing association with the franchise both as a solo artist and during her time with the band Day After Tomorrow. These releases compile and, in one case, update her recordings to celebrate the series' milestones. Released under Avex Trax, they highlight her vocal style in pop and rock arrangements tailored to game openings and endings.[23]The first compilation, Tales with misono -BEST-, was released on June 10, 2009, as an EP featuring six tracks drawn from various Tales of games. It includes songs such as "Starry Heavens" and "Soshite Boku ni Dekiru Koto" originally performed by Day After Tomorrow for Tales of Symphonia, alongside solo efforts like "VS" for Tales of the Abyss and "Nininsankyaku" for Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.
