Bigflo
Bigflo & Oli is a French hip hop duo from Toulouse, consisting of brothers Florian "Bigflo" Ordoñez and Olivio "Oli" Ordoñez.[1] Known for their introspective lyrics, energetic beats, and blend of traditional hip-hop with pop elements, the duo rose to prominence as one of France's youngest and most successful rap acts.[2] Formed in the mid-2010s, Bigflo & Oli released their debut studio album, La Cour des grands, in 2015, marking their breakthrough. Their follow-up album La Vraie Vie (2017) included hits like "Dommage" that resonated widely among young audiences for addressing everyday struggles and social themes.[3] The albums La Vraie Vie (2017) and La Vie de rêve (2018) achieved significant commercial success; the latter was certified gold within 10 days of release and platinum shortly after, solidifying their status in the French music scene.[1] The duo's music often draws from personal experiences, with a focus on authenticity and humor, earning them a dedicated fanbase across Europe. Bigflo & Oli have garnered numerous accolades, including the NRJ Music Awards for Best Francophone Duet/Group in 2017, 2018, and 2019, as well as the Victoires de la Musique for Urban Music Album for La Vie de rêve in 2019 and the MTV Europe Music Award for Best French Act in 2018.[2] In 2023, they won Best French Act at the MTV EMA Awards.[4] Their career highlights include a Netflix documentary, Bigflo & Oli: Hip Hop Frenzy, released in 2020, which offers an intimate look at their creative process and tour life.[5] Remaining active into 2025, they continue to release singles such as "Insolent 5," "Londres en Mars (Freestyle 2025)," and "Mexico en Janvier (Freestyle 2025)," alongside announcements of new projects and tours.[3]Career
2014: Formation and debut
Bigflo was formed on June 19, 2014, by the entertainment company HO Company as a five-member boy group consisting of leader Jungkyun, HighTop, Ron, Yuseong, and Z-UK (Jiwook). The group was positioned as a hip-hop influenced K-pop act, blending strong rap verses with melodic hooks to appeal to fans of both genres. This initial lineup emphasized the members' individual strengths in rapping and vocals, drawing comparisons to established hip-hop groups like Block B due to their charismatic and edgy style.[6][7] The group made their official debut just four days later on June 23, 2014, with the mini-album First Flow, released under HO Company. The lead single, "Delilah," served as the title track, featuring a catchy chorus and hip-hop beats that highlighted the members' synchronized performances. The music video for "Delilah" showcased a confident, urban aesthetic, quickly gaining attention on platforms like YouTube shortly after release.[6][7] Following their debut, Bigflo engaged in early promotional activities centered in South Korea, including their first stage on Mnet's M Countdown on June 26, 2014. They continued with appearances on major music programs such as SBS's Inkigayo in July 2014 and MBC Music's Show Champion in August 2014, where they performed "Delilah" to build visibility. These efforts helped establish an initial fanbase known as "Wave," focusing on live energy and fan interactions during shows to foster loyalty among K-pop audiences.[8][9][10]2015–2016: Japanese debut and lineup expansion
In 2015, Bigflo expanded their activities internationally by debuting in the Japanese market on April 15 with the release of the Japanese version of their debut single "Delilah," distributed through KISS Entertainment.[11] This marked the group's first foray into Japan following their domestic establishment, building on the momentum from their second extended play, Second Flow, released on November 25, 2014, which featured the lead single "Bad Mama Jama" and showcased their hip-hop-infused pop sound.[12] To promote their entry, Bigflo performed at the inaugural KCON Japan event at Saitama Super Arena on April 22, delivering a set that included tracks from their early discography and engaging with fans through live stages.[13] The group further solidified their presence in Japan through a series of promotional activities, including solo concerts on April 18 and 26, as well as album release events in Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo, which allowed them to connect directly with international audiences and perform adapted versions of their music.[14] These efforts highlighted Bigflo's strategy to grow beyond South Korea, leveraging their original five-member lineup to introduce their energetic performances and rap-heavy style to new markets. Amid this expansion, the group announced the addition of a sixth member, Kichun—a vocalist, dancer, and actor—on June 18, 2015, temporarily increasing their roster to enhance vocal dynamics and stage versatility.[15] Kichun's integration coincided with Bigflo's continued domestic output, culminating in the release of their third extended play, Incant, on October 8, 2015, which featured the lead track "Obliviate" and incorporated the new member's contributions for a refreshed group sound. This period of lineup expansion and cross-border promotion represented a key growth phase for Bigflo, as they balanced Japanese market entry with ongoing Korean releases to build a broader fanbase.2017–2019: Member departures and final activities
In late 2016, Bigflo experienced significant lineup changes when members Z-UK and Kichun announced their departure from the group on December 13, effective into the following year.[16] The agency, HO Company, confirmed the exits were due to personal reasons, leaving the group with three remaining members: Ron, Yuseong, and HighTop.[16] This transition marked a period of instability following the group's earlier expansion in Japan, as they prepared for a restructured comeback. To bolster the lineup, the company introduced three new members—Euijin, Sungmin, and Lex—in early 2017, temporarily forming a six-member group alongside the originals. The group transferred management from HO Company to Hyeyoom Entertainment at the start of 2017. The refreshed ensemble debuted their fourth mini album, Stardom, on February 14, 2017, with the title track emphasizing themes of ambition and perseverance through high-energy hip-hop production.[17] Later that year, Euijin participated in KBS's survival program The Unit: Idol Rebooting Project, where he secured second place among male contestants with 164,838 votes, leading to his temporary activities with the project boy group UNB from April 2018 to January 2019.[18] Bigflo continued releases with their fifth mini album, Emphas!ze, on August 18, 2018, featuring the lead single "Upside Down," a dynamic track produced by Brave Brothers that showcased the group's evolving rap and vocal synergy amid ongoing member transitions.[19] However, further changes loomed as Yuseong departed in late 2018 due to contract expiration.[20] On January 17, 2019, contracts for Ron, HighTop, and Jungkyun (who had returned from military service hiatus) also expired, leading to their official exits and reducing Bigflo to a three-member unit of Euijin, Sungmin, and Lex.[21][22]2019–present: Hiatus and group status
In February 2019, Bigflo entered an indefinite hiatus following an announcement by member Euijin, enabling the members to pursue individual activities while emphasizing that the group had not officially disbanded. This decision came after a period of lineup changes and marked the end of their collective promotions, with no subsequent group endeavors planned at the time.[23] After the transfer to Hyeyoom Entertainment, management later shifted to WAN Entertainment. As of November 2025, Bigflo remains on indefinite hiatus, with the current trio—Lex, Euijin, and Sungmin—recognized as the official lineup, though inactive in terms of group operations, and members focusing on solo paths.Members

Singles
Bigflo released several standalone singles during their active years, primarily focusing on digital releases and Japanese market entries to expand their reach beyond EP promotions. These tracks often served as promotional or campaign songs, with limited chart success reflecting the group's niche position in the K-pop industry. The group's first notable single was "우리, 이젠" (Uri, Ijen), released on June 29, 2015, as a campaign song for the Seoul Regional Veterans Affairs Office's patriotism initiative, where members contributed to the lyrics and composition. This digital single emphasized themes of national unity and remembrance, aligning with Ho Company's community-oriented projects.[28] In parallel with their Japanese expansion, Bigflo debuted in that market with "Delilah (Japanese ver.)" on April 15, 2015, a re-recorded version of their debut track tailored for international audiences. The single, distributed by HO Company, marked their entry into Oricon charts, peaking at number 17 and establishing a foothold in Japan. It included an instrumental version and was promoted through live events in Tokyo.[29][11] Following this, the lead single "1,2,3,4" from their first Japanese mini album of the same name arrived on November 25, 2015, featuring upbeat pop elements and an accompanying music video released on November 21. This track, along with B-sides like "Miracle" and "Bad Mama Jama (Japanese ver.)," peaked at number 19 on the Oricon charts, further solidifying their presence in the region through promotional tours at venues like Odaiba Venus Fort.[29][30] Post-2017 lineup changes, Bigflo issued "Upside Down" (거꾸로) on August 18, 2018, as a high-energy lead track highlighting the renewed group's dynamic with members Euijin, Sungmin, and Lex. Produced by Brave Brothers, it featured a music video with surreal visuals and garnered attention for its catchy bassline and rap verses, though it did not achieve significant chart placements amid the group's hiatus announcements.[31][32] Earlier promotional efforts included "Bad Mama Jama," released on November 24, 2014, which blended jazz influences with playful lyrics and accumulated 581,000 views on its official music video by 2024, serving as a key showcase for the original lineup's charisma despite no major chart impact.[33][34]| Title | Release Date | Language | Peak Chart Position | Notes |
