Cheng Wen-tsan was awarded the Order of Brilliant Star, First Class (一等景星勳章), on May 13, 2024, by President Tsai Ing-wen in recognition of his contributions as Vice Premier of the Executive Yuan. In 2022, he received the inaugural Honorary Outstanding Alumnus designation from National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT), acknowledging his role in facilitating the affiliation of Taoyuan Agricultural and Industrial Vocational High School with the university and supporting collaborative initiatives such as the establishment of a smart and green energy base in Taoyuan. As Mayor of Taoyuan, Cheng was honored with the Best Partner Award in the 2021 Taiwan Healthy and Age-Friendly City assessment for the city's excellence in age-friendly initiatives. He also received the Outstanding Professional Award at the 2021 Global City Smart Award (GCSA) ceremony for contributions to smart city development. Additionally, in November 2021, he was granted the Ministry of Education Library Affairs Contribution Award in the Local Chief category for advancing library services in Taoyuan.
