Galaxy Entertainment Group
Galaxy Entertainment Group Limited (GEG) is a Hong Kong-based investment holding company that develops and operates integrated resorts, hotels, casinos, and entertainment facilities, primarily in Macau.[1]Established in 2002 when its subsidiary Galaxy Casino, S.A. was awarded a gaming concession by the Macau SAR Government, GEG has grown into one of Asia's leading gaming and hospitality operators, holding one of only six gaming concessions in the region valid through 2032.[2][3]
The company is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (stock code: 0027.HK) since July 2005 and is a constituent stock of the Hang Seng Index.[2][3] GEG's flagship properties include Galaxy Macau on the Cotai Strip, one of the world's largest integrated destination resorts featuring multiple hotels, a casino, retail spaces, and entertainment venues; StarWorld Macau, an award-winning high-end boutique hotel and casino on the Macau Peninsula; and Broadway Macau, a family-friendly entertainment and retail landmark also in Cotai.[3][2]
Recent expansions, such as Phase 3 of Galaxy Macau inaugurated in December 2023, have added luxury hotels like the Ritz-Carlton and further diversified offerings with non-gaming attractions to support Macau's economic diversification goals.[2]
Headquartered at 22nd Floor, Wing On Centre, 111 Connaught Road Central, Hong Kong, GEG employs over 21,000 people and emphasizes a service philosophy of “World Class, Asian Heart.”[4][5][3] Founded by Dr. Lui Che Woo, who built the broader K. Wah Group starting in 1955 before venturing into gaming, GEG is now led by Chairman and Executive Director Mr. Francis Lui Yiu Tung, who joined the group in 1979 and assumed the chairman role in December 2024 following his father's passing.[6][7][8]
Under this leadership, the company has committed to sustainability initiatives, including investing in green bonds and providing MOP 200 million in pandemic support by July 2020, while focusing on high-quality mass-market gaming and integrated resort experiences.[2][1]
