Holidead
Holidead is the ring name of Camille Ligon, an American professional wrestler born July 21, 1986, in Cleveland, Ohio.[1] She stands at 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds, often billed from Sacramento, California, with a distinctive undead or zombie-inspired appearance featuring face paint and gothic attire.[2] Known for her violent, hard-hitting strong style and power-based brawling, Holidead is willing to win at any cost and has adopted the mantra that "violence is for everyone."[3] Holidead trained under Gangrel (David Heath), Reno Anoa'i, and Rikishi at the Knokx Pro Wrestling Academy before making her professional debut on November 16, 2013.[2] Early in her career, she competed under the name Cami Fields, including a singles match loss to Bayley on an episode of WWE Raw in October 2016.[4] She later formed the tag team Twisted Sisterz with Thunder Rosa, winning the Vendetta Pro Wrestling Tag Team Championship in September 2016 and the Sabotage Wrestling Tag Team Championship.[4] Throughout her career, Holidead has worked in numerous promotions, including Ring of Honor, All Elite Wrestling (where she appeared on AEW Dark in 2021), Women of Wrestling (WOW), and international tours with World Wonder Ring Stardom in Japan as a member of the Oedo Tai stable.[4] In WOW, she emerged as a solo competitor after parting from an alliance with Chainsaw and Siren the Voodoo Doll, often stepping in to protect allies like Foxxy Fierce while embracing her mysterious, graveyard-wandering persona.[3] Her in-ring style combines technical elements with comedy and gimmick work, allowing her to adapt as both a singles and tag team wrestler over more than a decade in the industry. As of 2025, she continues to compete in Women of Wrestling and on the independent circuit, including Ohio Valley Wrestling.[5]Personal life
Early life
Camille Ligon, better known by her ring name Holidead, was born on July 21, 1986, in Cleveland, Ohio, United States.[6][7] She grew up in Cleveland.[8] Ligon was introduced to professional wrestling at a young age by a family member who took her to a live WWF house show, where she witnessed a match between Virgil and Yokozuna that captivated her with the blend of athleticism and theatrical performance.[9][8] This exposure ignited her passion for the sport, leading her to admire performers like Tatanka, The Undertaker, Sensational Sherri, Luna Vachon, and Bull Nakano for their compelling characters.[8]Family and background
In a 2017 interview, Camille Ligon, known professionally as Holidead, stated she resided near Cudahy, California, in the United States, embracing a nomadic lifestyle as a self-described jetsetter and road warrior who thrives on constant travel and minimal downtime.[10] She maintains strong personal bonds with peers in the wrestling community, viewing Thunder Rosa as her best friend due to their shared hustle and mutual respect, and considering Act Yasukawa as family with ongoing communication despite distances.[10] Thunder Rosa has also played a supportive role in her life, encouraging international travel to Europe as a means to recharge and appreciate the present, particularly after Holidead's serious 2021 injury that taught her to enjoy the moment.[11] Ligon keeps her family life private, with no public records of marriages or children. Beyond her professional commitments, she has shared modest personal interests, such as an affinity for candy, reflecting a lighter side amid her demanding routine.[12]Professional wrestling career
Training and debut (2013–2015)
Holidead began her professional wrestling training in 2013 at the Knokx Pro Wrestling Academy in Sun Valley, California, under the guidance of veteran wrestlers David "Gangrel" Heath and Solofa Fatu Jr. (Rikishi), along with Reno Anoa'i. The academy, known for its emphasis on fundamentals, character development, and a hardcore wrestling style, provided a rigorous environment where she honed her skills over approximately two years. This training period focused on building physical conditioning, in-ring psychology, and the creation of a unique persona that would define her career.[10] She made her professional in-ring debut on November 16, 2013, during a Knokx Pro Academy event, initially competing under the ring name Blue Holiday. Early appearances were confined to academy showcases and local independent promotions affiliated with Knokx Pro, where she faced regional talents in short matches designed to build experience. These bouts helped her transition from student to competitor, emphasizing basic brawling techniques and storytelling elements.[2] During 2013–2015, Holidead developed her signature gothic persona as "Holidead," incorporating face paint, dark attire, and themes of the supernatural to portray an eerie, outcast figure; this character drew from personal gothic interests and guidance from her trainers to create an unsettling presence in the ring. Her wrestling style emerged as that of a hard-hitting brawler, blending aggressive strikes with hints of voodoo-inspired mysticism that would later become more prominent. A key early milestone came in 2014, when she secured her first notable victory by defeating Laura James in a singles match at a Knokx Pro Academy event on February 15, helping to establish momentum on the independent circuit.[10][13]World Wonder Ring Stardom (2015–2016)
Holidead debuted for World Wonder Ring Stardom on October 25, 2015, at the Mask Fiesta 2015 ~ Halloween Party event in Tokyo, competing under the ring name Kairian 2.0 in a 5-minute time-limit draw against Act Ranger, the masked persona of Act Yasukawa.[14] This appearance marked her entry into the joshi puroresu landscape, where her prior U.S. training in hardcore and technical styles helped her adapt to the fast-paced, high-impact environment. Shortly thereafter, she transitioned to her established Holidead persona and aligned with the villainous Oedo Tai stable, engaging in several multi-woman tag matches against prominent units like Thunder Rock and Artist of Stardom. On November 15, 2015, during a Stardom event co-promoted with the National Wrestling Alliance, Holidead received her first major title opportunity, challenging Santana Garrett for the NWA World Women's Championship in a hard-fought singles match that Garrett retained via pinfall.[15] Throughout the remainder of 2015, Holidead solidified her role in Oedo Tai through key tag team bouts, including time-limit draws and competitive losses against teams featuring Kairi Hojo, Mayu Iwatani, and Kris Wolf, showcasing her aggressive brawling approach against Stardom's athletic roster.[16] In 2016, Holidead partnered with fellow American Thunder Rosa to form the tag team Twisted Sisterz, debuting the duo in the Goddesses of Stardom Tag League on October 23 with a victory over Hiromi Mimura and Saori Anou.[17] The team racked up impressive league wins, defeating Jungle Kyona and Mayu Iwatani on November 3, as well as Chelsea Green and Santana Garrett on November 6, highlighting their power-based offense and chemistry in the tournament's Block A. Despite a time-limit draw against the Owens Twins and a loss to eventual league winners Kairi Hojo and Yoko Bito, Twisted Sisterz advanced with strong showings, including another victory over Mimura and Hojo on November 20. This run marked Holidead's first major tag team success internationally, as Twisted Sisterz had captured the NWA Western States Tag Team Championship earlier that year on September 30 outside of Stardom, becoming the first all-female team to hold the titles.[18] Twisted Sisterz received a shot at the Goddesses of Stardom Championship on December 4, 2016, challenging reigning champions Kagetsu and Kyoko Kimura of Oedo Tai in a no-holds-barred affair but fell short in the 15-minute match.[16] Later that month, on December 22 at Stardom's Year-End Climax, the duo defended their NWA Western States Tag Team Championship against HZK and Momo Watanabe of Queen's Quest in a successful retention that underscored their dominance as a unit during the tour.[19] Holidead's tenure in Stardom, which included integration into Oedo Tai alongside her tag partner by late 2016, ended shortly after this event in early 2017, leaving a legacy as a trailblazing foreign hardcore specialist who bridged American and Japanese women's wrestling styles.[20]Women of Wrestling and tag team beginnings (2016–2019)
Following her stint in World Wonder Ring Stardom, Holidead returned to the United States in 2016, leveraging her international experience to secure increased bookings on the independent circuit. On October 10, 2016, she competed in a televised squash match on an episode of Monday Night Raw, losing to Bayley under the ring name Cami Fields with no subsequent follow-up opportunities.[16][2] That same year, Holidead joined Women of Wrestling (WOW), debuting in dark matches such as a loss to Khloe Hurtz on September 16, 2016, before securing her first televised victory over Ivy Quinn on October 14, 2016. Portrayed as a mysterious, hard-hitting brawler emerging from the darkness with a penchant for violent strong style, her character emphasized isolation and an affinity for shadowy, macabre themes, aligning with her ring name's undead motif. Through 2019, she featured in key WOW storylines involving brutal rivalries and power struggles, including matches against competitors like Nikki Nashville and Sylvia Sanchez, where her aggressive style and dark persona drove narratives of chaos and dominance in the promotion's roster dynamics.[16][3] During this period, Holidead expanded her tag team work as part of the Twisted Sisterz with Thunder Rosa, building on their prior partnership. On September 30, 2016, at Vendetta Pro Wrestling's "September to Remember" event in Santa Maria, California, they defeated Alexander G. Bernard and Jimi Mayhem to capture the Vendetta Pro Tag Team Championship (also recognized as the NWA Western States Tag Team Championship), marking the first time an all-female team held the titles. The duo continued competing together in independent promotions, culminating in a successful reign as SHINE Tag Team Champions after defeating Ivelisse and Mercedes Martinez among other teams in a four-way match at SHINE 52 on July 20, 2018, in Ybor City, Florida, holding the belts for one tenure before dropping them to Rainbow Bright later that year.[16][2][21] Holidead also made appearances in other independent promotions between 2017 and 2019, including a singles match against El Mariachi Loco at Sabotage Wrestling's "Somethings Got To Give" event on August 5, 2017, in Imperial Beach, California, showcasing her versatility in mixed-gender bouts. In 2019, she formed a new tag team alliance with Siren the Voodoo Doll for WOW events, advancing in the promotion's tag team championship tournament by defeating teams like the Psycho Sisters (Fury and Razor) in the second round on October 26, 2019, and later facing off against Adrenaline and Fire, which highlighted her evolving role in supernatural-themed partnerships within WOW's competitive landscape.[22][23][24]Ring of Honor (2017–2021)
Holidead made her Ring of Honor (ROH) debut in a dark match on October 14, 2017, during Night 3 of the Global Wars tour, where she lost to Sumie Sakai.[25] She returned the following year to compete in the inaugural Women of Honor Championship tournament, entering on February 20, 2018, but was eliminated in the first round by Deonna Purrazzo via submission.[26] Holidead's first televised match in ROH aired on December 15, 2018, as part of the tag team Twisted Sisterz alongside Thunder Rosa—formed earlier in other promotions—defeating Britt Baker and Madison Rayne in a Women of Honor bout.[27] The duo continued tag team work throughout 2019, including victories over opponents like Sumie Sakai and Madison Rayne in multi-woman matches, while Holidead also competed in singles, suffering a loss to Madison Rayne on January 24, 2019, during the Road to G1 Supercard events.[28] Her pay-per-view debut came in April 2019 at the G1 Supercard pre-show, where she fell to Madison Rayne in singles competition.[29] In 2021, amid ROH's push for a dedicated women's world title, Holidead entered the ROH Women's World Championship tournament, advancing to the quarterfinals before losing to Max the Impaler on August 14.[30] Later that year, she earned a title shot against champion Rok-C after winning a contender's match at Honor For All on November 14, but was unsuccessful in the championship defense aired on December 27.[31] Following these pursuits, Holidead's appearances on ROH television diminished in late 2021 as the promotion announced a hiatus, marking the end of her regular stint.[32]Major League Wrestling (2021–2022)
Holidead signed with Major League Wrestling (MLW) in September 2021, joining the newly established women's featherweight division as one of its inaugural competitors.[33] Her debut match took place at MLW Fightland on October 2, 2021, where she faced Nicole Savoy in a bout taped for Fusion Alpha; Savoy defeated her via submission in 8:06.[6] Drawing from her prior tenure in Ring of Honor, Holidead quickly positioned herself as a hardcore brawler in MLW, emphasizing violent, high-impact maneuvers that aligned with the promotion's intense style.[34] Following her debut loss, Holidead secured a significant victory on December 16, 2021, defeating Willow Nightingale in a taped match for MLW Fusion Alpha #13, showcasing her dominance in the division through aggressive offense that reportedly left opponents reeling.[16] However, she suffered an injury later that month during a non-MLW event, which sidelined her temporarily and raised concerns about a potential long-term absence, though she recovered and returned in early 2022.[34] Upon her comeback, she continued her momentum with wins over Shazza McKenzie on March 31, 2022 (5:04), and Chik Tormenta on April 1, 2022 (4:07), both taped for MLW Fusion episodes, solidifying her as a top threat in the featherweight ranks through short, brutal encounters.[35] These victories highlighted her role in elevating the division, often aligning with factions like those involving Dr. Dax and Gangrel for added intensity.[36] Holidead's MLW run culminated in a high-profile title opportunity on May 13, 2022, at the Kings of Colosseum event in Philadelphia, where she challenged Taya Valkyrie for the vacant MLW Women's World Featherweight Championship in a 9:00 submission loss, crowning Valkyrie as the inaugural champion.[37] Positioned as a premier contender, Holidead's performances, including her hospitalizing-level aggression noted in promotional materials, helped build the women's division amid interactions with emerging talents in the roster.[37] She departed MLW later in 2022 following the title defeat, shifting focus back to the independent scene.[6]Independent circuit and Ohio Valley Wrestling (2023–present)
Following her departure from Major League Wrestling, Holidead returned to the independent circuit in 2023, competing in various promotions across the United States. On June 23, 2023, she faced Lou Gotti in an intergender match for VIP Wrestling at St. Jude Hall in Arlington, Texas, where she was defeated after 9:35.[38] A week later, on July 1, 2023, Holidead lost to Dani Mo in a singles match at Battleground Championship Wrestling's Legends Never Die event held at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[39] These appearances highlighted her continued presence in the indie scene, drawing on her veteran experience from larger promotions to secure bookings. A significant achievement came on June 3, 2023, when Holidead defeated Ray Lyn to capture the IWC Women's Championship at International Wrestling Cartel's PlumerSlam event in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.[40] She held the title for 182 days, successfully defending it against challengers including Pegasa on August 16, 2023, at IWC's Caged Fury before losing it to Katie Arquette on December 2, 2023, at the 6th Annual Pittsburgh Classic.[41] Later that month, on December 16, 2023, Holidead competed in a three-way match for the vacant BCW Women's Championship against Dani Mo and Tasha Steelz at Battleground Championship Wrestling's Opportunity Knocks, but was unsuccessful as Dani Mo emerged victorious.[42] Holidead began appearing for Ohio Valley Wrestling in early 2024, participating in the Women's Nightmare Rumble on January 6, 2024, at Davis Arena in Louisville, Kentucky, where Leila Grey claimed victory.[5] Her involvement intensified later that year, with a loss to Sophia Rose on October 24, 2024, during OVW TV #1315.[16] On October 31, 2024, she faced Haley J in the promotion's first televised women's casket match at OVW TV #1316's Halloween Hell Night, ultimately being defeated in the stipulation bout.[5] These matches underscored her affinity for hardcore elements within OVW's programming. In 2025, Holidead continued her OVW commitments, entering the Women's Nightmare Rumble on January 4, 2025, at Davis Arena, though Haley J won the multi-woman elimination match.[43] She also made guest appearances on the independent circuit, including a three-way match against Tasha Steelz and Dani Mo on January 7, 2025, at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia for Battleground Championship Wrestling's women's title, which she did not win.[44] Further outings included a War Games cage match teaming with Runway against BBB on an unspecified Enjoy Wrestling event earlier in the year, emphasizing her hardcore style.[45] On May 16, 2025, she challenged for the ESW Women's Championship at Empire State Wrestling's Brawlfest 2025 in Buffalo, New York, marking a high-profile indie spotlight. In summer 2025, Holidead held an independent women's championship in Top Tier Wrestling, successfully defending it against Taylor Rising on September 29 at Super Summer Showdown. She also competed in WOW throughout the year, including matches against Santana Garrett on July 28, The Classmaster on August 10, and Nikki Nashville on October 13.[46][47][48] As of November 2025, Holidead remains active on the independent circuit and with Ohio Valley Wrestling, maintaining her reputation for intense, hardcore matches that blend her extensive background with emerging opportunities.[43]Championships and accomplishments
