Joginder Sharma
Joginder Sharma (born 5 December 1981) is a former Indian cricketer and serving police officer, recognized primarily as a right-arm fast-medium bowler who played limited-overs international cricket for India.[1][2] He featured in four One Day Internationals and two Twenty20 Internationals between 2006 and 2007, alongside domestic cricket for Haryana and franchises in the Indian Premier League such as Chennai Super Kings.[1] Sharma's most celebrated contribution came in the final of the inaugural 2007 ICC World Twenty20 against Pakistan, where he bowled the decisive super over, dismissing Misbah-ul-Haq with a yorker on the last ball to secure a five-run victory and India's first T20 World Cup title under MS Dhoni's captaincy.[1][3] Following his international retirement, he transitioned to public service, joining the Haryana Police as a Deputy Superintendent of Police under the sports quota in 2007 and retiring from all forms of cricket in February 2023.[2]
