JUSTB (Korean: 저스트비), formerly stylized as Just B, is a six-member South Korean boy band formed by Bluedot Entertainment. The group debuted on June 30, 2021, with their first extended play (EP) Just Burn, featuring the lead single "Damage" produced by Bang Yongguk of B.A.P. Comprising members Geonu, Bain, Lim Ji-min, Siwoo, DY, and Sangwoo, JUSTB has released five EPs and several singles, blending intense choreography, powerful vocals, and themes of passion and self-expression in their music.[1][2]The group's formation stemmed from Bluedot Entertainment's survival show Under Nineteen in 2018, where several members competed before reuniting under the agency's project.[1] Early releases like Just Burn established their signature "burning" concept, symbolizing relentless energy and emotional intensity. In April 2025, during a concert in Los Angeles as part of their world tour, member Bain publicly came out as gay, performing Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" and declaring his pride in being part of the LGBT community—a rare and groundbreaking moment for visibility in the conservative K-pop industry.[3][1] This event drew widespread support from fans and highlighted JUSTB's role in advancing LGBTQ+ representation.[3]As of November 2025, JUSTB continues to build their international presence with their fifth mini album Snow Angel, released on November 7, which explores themes of contrasting emotions through cinematic visuals and innovative soundscapes produced in collaboration with Creative Labs 808hertz.[4][5] Their fandom, known as ONLYB, reflects the group's aim to connect deeply with Gen Z and millennial audiences facing modern dilemmas.[6] JUSTB remains active in performances, tours, and content creation, positioning themselves as a dynamic force in contemporary K-pop.
History
2019–2020: Pre-debut activities
Several members of Just B were trainees under Play M Entertainment, where they underwent rigorous pre-debut training focused on vocals, dance, and performance skills, laying the foundation for the group's dynamic pop-rock style.[7] This period marked the early assembly of the lineup, drawing from a pool of talented individuals with prior exposure in the industry, as Bluedot Entertainment—formed as a sub-label of Kakao Entertainment—began scouting and consolidating the team in preparation for a formal debut.[8]Several members gained visibility through high-profile survival programs during 2019–2020. Geonu participated in Mnet's I-Land in 2020, where he showcased strong vocal abilities and advanced to the later stages, ultimately being eliminated in episode 8 of part 2 after ranking in the top 12.[9] Similarly, Siwoo, then known as JM, competed on the same show but was eliminated during the initial phase, highlighting his dance prowess amid intense competition.[10] Bain and DY had earlier exposure on MBC's Under Nineteen in 2018–2019; Bain reached the finals but was eliminated in the last episode, while DY secured first place and briefly debuted with the temporary group 1the9 before its disbandment in 2020.[11]Lim Ji-min appeared on SBS's The Fan from November 2018 to February 2019, finishing in third place and earning praise for his charismatic stage presence and dance covers, including a performance that caught the attention of BTS's Jimin.[12] Sangwoo, meanwhile, focused primarily on in-house training without notable public appearances during this time. By late 2020, as the trainees transitioned under Bluedot Entertainment, the agency solidified the six-member formation, setting the stage for debut preparations in the following year.[8]
2021–2022: Debut and early years
Just B officially debuted on June 30, 2021, under Bluedot Entertainment with their first mini album Just Burn and the lead single "Damage," produced by B.A.P member Bang Yongguk.[13][14] The five-track release emphasized the group's signature rock-hip-hop fusion and theme of "burning passion," drawing on the members' prior experiences from survival programs such as Under Nineteen and I-LAND to deliver polished vocals and dynamic stage presence.[15][16] During promotions, "Damage" garnered attention for its intense choreography and energy on shows like Music Bank, helping establish their intense performance style despite modest initial chart visibility as a rookie act from a smaller agency.[17][18]Following their debut, Just B released their first single album Just Beat on October 27, 2021, led by the title track "Tick Tock."[19] The three-track project maintained their high-energy sound, exploring themes of urgency and resolve through pulsating beats and synchronized group dynamics.[20] This release allowed the group to sustain momentum with music show appearances and online content, gradually building their dedicated fanbase known as "ONLY B," which signifies the unique connection between the members and supporters.[7]In April 2022, Just B marked a key milestone in their early career with the second mini album Just Begun and its lead single "Re=Load."[21] The five-track EP showcased a more refined rock edge, symbolizing renewal and perseverance, with "Re=Load" featuring gritty instrumentation and anthemic choruses that highlighted their vocal range and rap delivery.[22] Promotions included performances on major programs, contributing to growing recognition amid challenges like limited mainstream exposure due to agency resources.[23]Later that year, on November 16, 2022, Just B released their third mini album * = (Neun)*, led by the title track "ME= (NANEUN)". The five-track EP explored themes of self-identity and equality, symbolized by the equals sign, with experimental sounds and member contributions to lyrics, further solidifying their artistic growth. Over this formative period, the group focused on fan engagement through social media and live stages to cultivate loyalty, laying the foundation for future growth.[7][24]
2023–2024: JUST Be with you, ÷ (Nanugi), and The CrewOne
In early 2023, Just B launched their global project titled JUST Be with you, aimed at connecting with international audiences through collaborative music and performances that emphasize unity and shared experiences. The project debuted with the single "MBTI" featuring AleXa, released on February 14, 2023, as part of the JUST Be with you Pt. 1 digital single. The track blends smooth R&B and pop elements to explore the concept of using MBTI personality types as a fun, relatable way to foster connections, particularly timed for Valentine's Day to highlight themes of compatibility and sharing.[25][26][27]Continuing the project's momentum, Just B released their fourth mini album ÷ (Nanugi) on October 9, 2023. The EP features seven tracks, including the title track "Medusa," a high-energy punk rock song that uses the mythological figure as a metaphor to address environmental degradation and the urgent need for collective action. The album's artistic direction delves into themes of division and choice—symbolized by the mathematical division sign (÷) and the Korean word "Nanugi" (meaning "which one")—reflecting on personal and societal splits while hinting at potential reunion through awareness and decision-making. Members actively participated in the creative process, contributing to lyrics and composition to deepen the narrative of environmental consciousness and self-reflection.[28][29][30]On May 22, 2024, Just B issued their first all-English digital single "Daddy's Girl," marking a shift toward broader accessibility for global listeners. The upbeat pop track highlights the group's evolving sound, with members involved in songwriting, rapping, and production to convey playful confidence and charm. Promotions included live performances during their ongoing tours, where fans praised its catchy hooks and energetic vibe, noting it as a refreshing addition to their discography that strengthened fan engagement.[31][32]In June 2024, Just B merged with fellow boy group ATBO under IST Entertainment and Bluedot Entertainment to form the 12-member project unit The CrewOne, specifically for the Mnet survival program Road to Kingdom: Ace of Ace. Announced on June 27, the group symbolized unity and shared ambition, with Just B's Geonu serving as leader. They officially debuted on the show on July 30, 2024, delivering joint performances that showcased blended vocals and choreography, though member Siwoo took a temporary hiatus due to recent events. The project concluded its activities on November 29, 2024, allowing both original groups to resume independent promotions. Siwoo resumed activities with the group on December 6, 2024.[33][34][35]This era also saw Just B's international profile rise, highlighted by their debut U.S. showcase at KCON LA 2023, where they performed hits like "Damage" and covers to enthusiastic crowds. Building on this, they launched the Just Be With You tour across North and South America starting March 15, 2024, in Jersey City, New Jersey, expanding their live presence and fanbase in key markets like the U.S., Mexico, and Brazil.[36][37]
2025: Still I Luv You, JUST ODD, Too Late, and Snow Angel
Just B began 2025 with the release of their digital single "Still I Luv You" on January 5, following a postponement from its original December 31, 2024, schedule. The track marked the group's return after the conclusion of their project group activities, signaling a renewed emphasis on original material under Bluedot Entertainment.[38][39]On March 28, JUSTB issued their digital EP JUST ODD, exploring diverse genres and experimental styles through tracks like the lead single "CHEST," which introduced hyper-pop elements alongside "KiD," "BULLET," and "DOOM x3." The album's concept embraced unpredictability and innovation, aligning with the group's evolving sound post-project collaborations. This release propelled JUSTB into their JUST ODD World Tour, commencing shortly after and extending through multiple international stops, including a historic North American leg.[40][41][42]In June 2025, the group updated their stylization to JUSTB. The year continued with the English-language digital single "Too Late" on August 24, described as a modern rock track that built on the group's momentum from earlier promotions. The song's teaser emphasized emotional depth, contributing to sustained fan engagement amid their touring schedule.[43][44]JUSTB's fifth mini album, Snow Angel, arrived on November 7, featuring a pre-release single "GOING SOUTH" on October 24 and a highlight medley unveiled in late October. The project blended hyperpop with themes of contrasting cold introspection and warm vulnerability, as highlighted in promotional materials and early interviews. Initial reception praised its daring sonic shifts, positioning it as a bold winter-season entry that showcased the group's maturation.[45][4][46][5]In February, Just B expanded their international presence with the "Always and Forever" fanmeeting tour in Japan, holding shows in Tokyo on February 22 and Osaka on February 24. These events, the group's first major Japan activities of the year, included fan interactions and performances, fostering deeper connections with overseas supporters ahead of broader tour expansions.[47][48][49]A pivotal personal milestone occurred in April when member Bain publicly came out as gay during the final concert of the JUST ODD World Tour in Los Angeles on April 22, declaring himself "f*cking proud to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community" onstage. As the first active K-pop idol to do so, Bain's announcement received widespread support from fans and the industry, enhancing Just B's image as advocates for inclusivity and challenging conservative norms in South Korean entertainment. The group affirmed their solidarity, noting in subsequent interviews that it strengthened their bond and resonated globally, with no reported negative impact on promotions.[50][51][52][53][54]Following The CrewOne's disbandment in late 2024, Just B refocused on independent endeavors, channeling the experience into a prolific 2025 lineup of releases and tours. Teasers for additional U.S. listening events tied to Snow Angel, such as stops in Seattle, Chicago, and Charlotte, hinted at ongoing global outreach and potential full-scale world tour extensions into 2026.[34][55][56]
