Founding and Early Years
Rangsit College was established in 1986 by Dr. Arthit Ourairat, who served as the founding president, in collaboration with his father, Prasit Ourairat.[5] The institution was created to address the growing demand for higher education in Thailand, initially offering programs through the Faculty of Nursing and the Faculty of Business Administration, including fields such as nursing, management, accounting, industrial management, and computer information systems.[2] From its inception, the college emphasized practical and emerging disciplines to prepare students for societal needs, with an early enrollment of 319 students and 99 faculty and staff members.[2] On July 31, 1990, the Ministry of University Affairs of Thailand granted full university status to Rangsit College, officially renaming it Rangsit University.[3] This transition marked a significant milestone, allowing the institution to expand its academic offerings and infrastructure while solidifying its role as a private higher education provider. For postgraduate entry, a recognized bachelor's degree is mandatory, with potential bridging courses for unrelated fields.
