Rob Delaney
Rob Delaney (born January 19, 1977) is an American comedian, actor, writer, and internet personality who rose to prominence through his prolific and often profane output on Twitter.[1][2]
Delaney, born in Boston, Massachusetts, gained early recognition for winning the "Funniest Person on Twitter" award at The Comedy Awards in 2012, leveraging the platform's character limit to deliver concise, absurd, and self-deprecating jokes that amassed millions of followers.[1][2]
In 2013, he published his debut book, Rob Delaney: Mother. Wife. Sister. Human. Warrior. Falcon. Menace. Rocketship. Car. Brain., a collection of essays blending humor with personal anecdotes on topics including addiction recovery and fatherhood.[3]
Delaney co-created, co-wrote, and starred in the British sitcom Catastrophe (2015–2019) alongside Sharon Horgan, portraying a couple navigating unplanned pregnancy and marriage; the series earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series in 2016 and a BAFTA TV Craft Award for Best Comedy Writing.[4][5][6]
His acting credits include supporting roles in films such as Deadpool 2 (2018) as Peter and Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), as well as the limited series Dying for Sex (2025), for which he received another Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor.[1][5]
Relocating to the United Kingdom in 2014, Delaney has since become a dual American-British citizen and incorporated political activism into his public persona, advocating for progressive causes while maintaining a focus on raw, unfiltered comedy.[2][7]
