SinB made her entertainment debut as a member of the South Korean girl group GFriend on January 15, 2015, with the release of their first mini-album Season of Glass, which featured the lead single "Glass Bead".[12] Positioned as the group's main dancer, lead vocalist, lead rapper, and center, SinB contributed to GFriend's signature high-energy choreography and harmonious vocals, helping establish their image as a fresh, youthful act under Source Music. The debut album debuted at number 7 on the Gaon Album Chart.[13] The group quickly gained momentum with their second mini-album Flower Bud in July 2015, led by the single "Me Gustas Tu", whose music video and live performances—particularly a viral stage on Music Bank where the members fell multiple times but continued dancing—propelled GFriend to widespread recognition and solidified their reputation for perseverance and charm. In 2016, GFriend released the mini-album Snowflake with the hit "Rough", which earned 15 music show wins, including triple crowns on major programs like M Countdown, Music Bank, and Inkigayo, and their first full-length album LOL featuring "Navillera", both of which topped charts and boosted their domestic popularity. SinB often took the center position in key choreographies for these tracks, showcasing her precise dance skills and stage presence.[12] Later releases included the 2017 mini-album The Awakening with "Fingertip", the 2018 mini-album Time for the Moon Night emphasizing a more mature sound, and the 2019 full-length album Time for Us led by "Sunrise", which achieved a grand slam of first-place wins on all major music shows that year. These works highlighted GFriend's evolution from bright, schoolgirl concepts to more sophisticated themes, with SinB's vocal lines and dance breaks adding dynamic flair. GFriend expanded internationally, particularly in Japan, where they debuted in May 2018 with the compilation album Kyou Kara Watashitachi wa: GFriend 1st Best, performing hits like the Japanese version of "Me Gustas Tu" at showcases and embarking on their "Season of GFriend" Asia tour, which included hi-touch fan events in cities like Tokyo and Manila to foster closer connections with global audiences.[12] Domestically, the group participated in reality shows such as GFriend! Look After Our Dog! in 2015, where they cared for puppies to showcase their playful side, and GFriend Where R U Going?! in 2016, capturing behind-the-scenes travel adventures. SinB also co-hosted Music Bank with fellow member Yuju from 2017 to 2018, enhancing her visibility as a charismatic entertainer through witty banter and special stages.[14] On May 18, 2021, Source Music announced that GFriend's exclusive contracts would conclude on May 22, leading to the group's disbandment after six years, with members expressing gratitude to fans in handwritten letters shared on Weverse. The sudden news concluded an era defined by chart-topping successes and dedicated fan interactions, including their final promotions for the 2020 mini-album 回: Walpurgis Night.[15]2021–present: VIVIZ formation, solo endeavors, and GFriend reunion
Following the disbandment of GFriend in May 2021, SinB, along with former members Eunha and Umji, announced their formation of the trio VIVIZ under BPM Entertainment on October 6, 2021.[16] The group re-debuted on February 9, 2022, with their first mini-album Beam of Prism, featuring the lead single "Bop Bop!", which showcased their signature energetic choreography and vocal harmony.[17] VIVIZ continued building momentum with subsequent releases, including the mini-album Summer Vibe on July 6, 2022, led by the summery track "LOVEADE". In 2023, she participated as a guest on episodes of Show! In January 2025, SinB sustained a ligament injury during rehearsals for GFRIEND's 10th anniversary 'Season of Memories' concert, which was initially treated as minor but worsened by March, resulting in increased pain that required further medical attention.[24] On March 27, 2025, her agency Big Planet Made issued an official statement announcing that medical professionals had recommended she wear a protective brace and limit physical activities to aid recovery, confirming no surgery was necessary.[24] Subsequent updates emphasized a focus on rest and rehabilitation, with SinB gradually resuming participation in VIVIZ promotions following the group's first full-length album A Montage of ( ) release in July 2025.[27] By November 2025, she had recovered sufficiently to perform on the VIVIZ NEW LEGACY world tour, which concluded successfully after five months on the road.[28]Discography
