Tim Settle Jr. (born July 11, 1997) is an American football defensive tackle for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL).[1] He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and raised in Manassas, Virginia.[2][3] Settle attended Virginia Tech, where he played college football for the Hokies from 2015 to 2017, starting all 13 games in his junior year and recording 36 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, and one blocked kick.[4] He declared for the 2018 NFL Draft after his junior season and was selected by the Washington Redskins in the fifth round (163rd overall).[2][5] Over his eight-year NFL career, Settle has played for Washington (2018–2021), Buffalo Bills (2022–2023), and Houston Texans (2024–present), appearing in 121 games with 128 combined tackles, 14 sacks, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries (as of the 2025 season).[2] His most productive season came in 2024 with the Texans, where he achieved a career-high approximate value of 6 and contributed to one of the league's top defenses.[2][6] Outside of football, Settle is known as an artist.[7]Early life and high school

Professional career
Washington (2018–2021)
Tim Settle was selected by the Washington Redskins in the fifth round (163rd overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Virginia Tech.[2] He signed a four-year rookie contract worth $2,728,044, including a $268,044 signing bonus, on May 10, 2018.
