Nikolai Valuev
Nikolai Sergeyevich Valuev (born 21 August 1973) is a Russian politician and retired professional boxer known for his exceptional size and tenure as a world heavyweight champion.[1]
Standing at 2.13 metres (7 ft 0 in) in height and weighing up to 151 kilograms (333 lb), Valuev holds the records for the tallest and heaviest heavyweight boxing champion in history.[2][3]
Active in professional boxing from 1993 to 2009 with a record of 50 wins and 2 losses, he captured the World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight title twice—first defeating John Ruiz by majority decision on 17 December 2005 and regaining it via unanimous decision against the same opponent on 30 August 2008—before losing it to David Haye in November 2009.[1][4][5]
Following his retirement from the ring, Valuev transitioned to politics, securing a seat in Russia's State Duma as a United Russia party member in the 2011 parliamentary elections and continuing to serve in subsequent convocations.[6][7]
