Rohan Joshi
Rohan Joshi Dilip (born 22 February 1983) is an Indian stand-up comedian, writer, actor, and YouTuber.[1]
A founding member of the comedy collective All India Bakchod (AIB) established in 2012, Joshi contributed to its satirical YouTube sketches, such as Honest Indian Flights and parodies of Bollywood tropes, which garnered significant online viewership.[1][2]
He co-hosted the news parody program On Air with AIB from 2015 to 2018, blending current events with humor, and judged the comedy competition Queens of Comedy in 2018.[1]
Joshi began performing stand-up in 2008 and by 2012 was ranked among India's top ten comedians by The Times of India, having completed over 250 shows at major venues.[3]
His solo career includes the 2020 Amazon Prime Video special Wake and Bake and a YouTube channel with approximately 180,000 subscribers featuring comedy sketches and commentary.[1]
Joshi debuted in film with a role in Baar Baar Dekho (2016) and has conducted live tours across India and internationally.[1]
Notable controversies include obscenity charges stemming from AIB's 2015 Knockout roast, which prompted legal scrutiny and public debate on comedy boundaries,[4] and backlash in 2022 for social media comments perceived as insensitive following comedian Raju Srivastava's death, which he later deleted and clarified.[5][1]
Following AIB's effective disbandment amid internal issues including sexual misconduct allegations against other members, Joshi pursued independent projects emphasizing pop culture analysis and stand-up.[6][7]
